The Wiggles - Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas (2000) ReviewThis video lives up to Wiggle Time in entertainment value. My kids (5 and 3) relate to each of the Wiggles as well as Captain Feathersword, Wags and Dorothy. We bought the video last weekend and since then the kids have memorized the dialogue and choreography. This is a terrific video choice for Christmas fun because your kids won't just sit and watch. They'll get up and dance and sing along. There are traditional songs plus some new high energy ones. I just asked my three year old which song was his favorite and he said, "Let's Clap Hands for Santa Claus," a Wiggles original. At the end of the video there is a montage of Christmas songs excerpted from one of the Wiggles concerts. The Wiggles: Sailing Around the World ReviewI can't help but wonder if The Wiggles are about to pass the baton completely to Capt. Feathersword. The Wiggles barely bother to show up in this DVD, and half the time are only represented by silly cartoons. This DVD comes across as chaotic and just plain bad. What worries me is that we have 5 tickets to see this "Sailing Around the World" show that we'll be driving 2 hours to see in only 6 days. After watching this DVD, I can't help but wonder if it will just be a huge waste of time and $$. My 2 year old is an absolute Wiggles freak, and he only stayed interested for about the first 15 minutes. He loves Capt. Feathersword, but the Capt. just isn't the same in this DVD, he's being expected to practically carry the whole show, and it's obvious he's not comfortable with it. (Was he ever really meant for that?? I thought he was just supposed to be a goofy sidekick.) We should keep in mind that The Wiggles are getting older...although they really only made a splash here in recent years, they've been at this since at least the mid-90's. However, rather than to keep spitting out worthless DVD's like Cold Spaghetti Western and this one, I'd rather they just bow out altogether. For anyone wanting a truly worthwhile Wiggles DVD collection, we recommend Wiggle Time, Wiggly Play Time, and even Dance Party. Stay far, far away from their last several releases.The Wiggles: Sailing Around the World Overview

The Wiggles: Wiggle Time (2007) ReviewWe saw the "Quack Quack" song on the beginning of a Barney movie and loved it so much I purchased this video. It's terrific! My 16-month old daughter loves it and so does the rest of the family (my 7 year old daughter, my husband and I). She dances and claps and says "Baw" everytime the ball comes on between songs. I find myself singing or humming the tunes even when the movie is over - they are very catchy and a nice change to the Barney songs I've heard a billion times in the last 7 years (not that we don't like Barney too)! I will enjoy watching my daughter grow with this tape and learn to follow along with the dance steps and songs. She has already learned how to do the quack, quack and cocka-doodle-doo motions from the repetition at the beginning of the Barney movie. It's too cute! The Wiggles Magical Adventure - A Wiggly Movie (2003) ReviewMy 22-month-old loves this movie ("WallyWallyWally," as she calls it--a reference to the theme song about the film's protagonist), and she will gladly sit through it several times straight through if I allow her to. Initially, I was surprised. She adores The Wiggles, and we own quite a few of their videos. Yet, at her age, her attention span is short, and she typically gets up and leaves the room after just a few songs, regardless of which tape she's watching.
So, when I sat down to watch this with her the first time and saw that it was a traditional movie, with dialogue and plot, I didn't expect much. But for some reason, it holds her interest, and she does her best to explain to me what's going on in the simple but pleasant story (regarding a sad-sack magician, Dorothy's disappearance on her birthday, and The Wiggles' efforts to find her in time for her surprise party).
After a few viewings, the film began to remind me more than a little of "Barney's Great Adventure," which my son became similarly addicted to five years ago. The two have a lot in common--similar plots and production, simple set dressings featuring bold colors, slapstick comedy, cheesey special effects, etc. But I would rather watch this film any day than that one, as I suspect most parents would.
The film isn't great, but it's not horrible, either. And over time, it's more likely to hold the kids' interest than the monotony of the song-collection videos from the group.The Wiggles Magical Adventure - A Wiggly Movie (2003) Overview

The Wiggles: Wiggly, Wiggly World ReviewThis is a little different style for the Wiggles. They enlist the help of several Austrailian and New Zealand song writers and performers for several of their songs. They manage to make all the songs lively and catchy with the exception of poor Tim Finn who really missed the boat on children's music revisiting his 80's hit Six Months is A Leaky Boat with a slow tempo and phrases like "the tyranny of distance", but he tried. I still get his song stuck in my head and our beloved boys brought out some of the best choreography for that song to liven it up. I probably didn't make any friends with that opinion, but it just is not a children's song!
I wasn't sure about the video at first, but the choreography in all the songs is very good and it really gets better each time I watch it. My 19 month old really likes it. Not as good as 'Toot Toot' but mutch better than 'Wiggly Gremlins'. Which kinda stinks. No offense.The Wiggles: Wiggly, Wiggly World Overview

The Wiggles Go Bananas (2009) ReviewI am giving 5 stars because it's that good to me. My 3 year old son loves the dvd and I have to say I enjoyed it as well. An added bonus to me was, getting to see all the "real" animals. The wiggles are dressed as animals and that is cute and makes the kids laugh, but it also has lots of live animals. And of course all kids love animals. If you are a wiggles fan or if your little one loves animals you can't go wrong with this one. It's full of toe tapping songs, and lots of wiggle fun. I will have to say I missed seeing Benny in this dvd. I guess he has left the wiggles. Captain feathersword hasn't went anywhere:) He's still a ball of fun for the kids. The captain and Anthony is our favorites. The Wiggles - Dance Party ReviewMy two daughters (ages 3 and 18 mos.) love the Wiggles and this particular program is loads of fun. Both girls dance, jump around and have a blast to this program. However, I was extremely disappointed with the DVD transfer. Hit Entertainment obviously doesn't think parents care a hoot about DVD production values on kids titles. There are no menus (the video simply begins when the tape loads), no features (a song menu would have been the least we could expect), and finally--and this is absolute rock bottom--the chapter stops are completely random, often coming in the middle of a song or skit. I realize this is an old tape being re-released on DVD, but someone should have at least put the chapter stops at logical points throughout the program and given viewers a menu so that we could get to our kids' favorite spots quickly. It's a shame that such little care was put into the DVD production values for such a good program.
