Family Guy Live in Las Vegas (W/Dvd) (Clean) ReviewI occasionally watch FAMILY GUY, but I'm not as big a fan of the show as I am THE SIMPSONS or SOUTH PARK. It is a funny show and I often get a laugh when I watch. I picked up FAMILY GUY: LIVE IN VEGAS because I thought there might be some bits that I could play on the webradio show I used to broadcast. I even picked up the "clean" version of the album, thinking there would at least be three or four songs I would be able to get into rotation. I was wrong. FAMILY GUY can be a hysterical show, but its just as crude, rude, and vulgar as it is funny. The show doesn't just poke fun at society, it roasts it. It's the difference between simply having an itch in your eye and having a javelin stuck in your eyeball. I thought the album would be like the show, but it's edgier, more disgusting, and more obscene. And this is the clean album. The only song that I really enjoyed listening to is "T.V. Medley." That tune is a duet composed of mainly 1980s television show theme songs sung by Stewie and Brian. "The Theme From FAMILY GUY" was the only other song I was able to get away with playing over the airwaves and to be honest it's the only other song on the album I liked. Some of the tunes have witty titles, e.g. "Puberty's Gonna Get Me", but unfortunately they step over the edge and quickly become inappropriate.
The DVD disc included with the album isn't much. It includes Stewie's "Sexy Party" music video, a making of "Sexy Party" short, a making of FAMILY GUY: LIVE IN VEGAS featurette, and a trailer for AMERICAN DAD. The making of the album featurette is really the only item on the disc worth taking any time to watch, but it's not that informative and really not that interesting.
FAMILY GUY: LIVE IN VEGAS is an item that big fans of the show will probably like (make sure to get the Parental Advisory one, though). However, if you're just a casual fan of the show, you will be better off just downloading the tunes you really want.Family Guy Live in Las Vegas (W/Dvd) (Clean) Overview

It teaches kids to do their chores before they play and to clean up after themselves. My daughter loves the Teletubbies, and also loves bubbles... this DVD has both! The pink Tubby custard bubbles sequence alone made it worth getting. She's also fascinated by the appearing and disappearing blue bells sequence. Elmo's World - Families, Mail & Bath Time (2010) ReviewMy daughter LOVES this furry little red guy, so we naturally tried to get as many fun to watch DVD's as possible starring ELMO! Unfortunately many don't feature him throughout, and she gets bored, but this edition is jam packed with Elmo from start to finish. Each segment teaches your little one something useful: "Families" show various types of families; "Mail" teaches how mail is created and mailed, how it gets to wherever it's going; "Bath Time" is hilarious with a long segment starring Mr. Noodle goofing around showing us what "supplies" you need to take a bath. There are scenes with washing babies, animals, etc. Your child will easily associate their own routines with those played out in each segment and of course have fun singing the silly song Elmo plays on his piano.

Classical Baby: The Music Show (2005) ReviewI agree with the previous reviewer, this is DEFINITELY better than Baby Einstein. I watched it with my 2 year old son, and I couldn't take my eyes off. Beautiful animations with gentle themes, wonderful choices in songs, it's not one to pass up! It reminded me a lot of the original Disney's Fantasia, but geared toward babies and toddlers. Baby Einstein - Baby Bach - Musical Adventure (1999) ReviewWe started with Baby Mozart, which absolutely mesmerized our 6-month old son, and promptly bought Baby Bach, Baby Einstein and Baby Shakespeare. I'd say Baby Einstein holds his interest a little less than the others (it's more talk than music), but he really seems to enjoy them all. Some people seem not to like Baby Bach as much as the others, but our son is no less enthusiastic about it than the others -- in our opinion, it's just as well made and the toys are just as interesting (plus, we like Bach!) I don't believe in parking my child in front of the TV, but it is so helpful to be able to put him in his high chair, start this video, then be able to go prepare his dinner, throw a load of laundry in, take a shower -- whatever -- and know that he'll be perfectly content for the next half hour, with the added bonus that it's stimulating, educational and acquaints him with some great music at an early age. My Baby Can Talk - First Signs (2004) ReviewI am an experienced signing parent, having signed with my second son and am currently signing with my 20-month-old daughter. I have seen many signing videos over the last four years, both as a parent and as a professional in the baby signing industry. Upon viewing My Baby Can Talk™ - First Signs DVD for the first time, I was very impressed for a number of reasons.
For starters, the movie itself is extremely engaging. I have my own little group of testers here in the house (three children) and I gauged their reactions carefully. My little girl, the youngest at 20 months, watched it the whole way through the first time with me by her side. She was able to connect the signs with the images on the screen quite easily with a little help from mom and genuinely enjoyed the footage of the animals the best (the panda having a snack is her favorite). I have not seen my daughter love a movie as much as she loves this one. She wants to watch it every day.
I also thought that it is really great to show both an adult as well as a baby signing every sign. This is helpful in more than one way - children get to see another child in their age group signing and they also get to see the sign signed with more precision by an adult. The repetition in the movie is perfect as well as the variety of images shown. It really reinforces the sign.

Baby Einstein - Baby Beethoven - Symphony of Fun (2002) ReviewThe "meat" of this video is as enjoyable as the previous two musical-themed Baby Einstein videos (Baby Bach, and Baby Mozart), but I am disappointed that Disney, who is now the parent company of Baby Einstein, chose to change the format we moms have come to depend on. When you have a crying baby, it's always great to just pop in a Baby Einstein video, because "the show" usually starts up right after the caterpillar creeps across the screen. Then it's usually 28 or so minutes of non-stop fun, followed by the "Hi, I'm Julie Clark..." advertising portion, and then on to the credits, which show each toy that was used in the video. This was always great because a baby would still be watching right up until the very end even though "the show" was over. Not so with the Baby Beethoven VHS! This video features a full five minutes of the newly redone advertising portion AT THE START OF THE VIDEO! This does not capture a baby's attention right away like all the other Baby Einstein videos. Also, since the ads are at the start of the video, the tape ends rather abruptly, and although the manufacturers of toys used are names, each toy is not shown again. This is a bummer if you want to buy any of the toys and you don't know what they're called.
